| 3650. Foundations of Marketing Practice. 3 hours. Survey of marketing concepts and practices and overview of the range of activities performed by marketing managers. Topics include the identification of market opportunities, strategic marketing planning, product/service development and management, price setting and management, establishing and managing distribution channels, and structuring promotional programs. Prerequisite(s): junior standing. |

| Course Objectives |
| To critically explore the development and deployment of marketing mix variables on the marketing concept in a dynamic global market setting. Special focus is on the ever-changing demographics, psychographics and socio-economic factors that constitute the macro-marketing environment. |
| Course Expectations |
| - To identify the marketing mix variables that marketers employ to attract and retain customers in a globally-connected market place
- To understand the evolution of marketing practices and theories relative to social, economic, political/legal, technological and other external market forces
- To understand the "marketing concept" in buyer-seller exchange processes
- To understand the multiple channel choices that confront buyers and sellers, and the role of intermediaries
