Course Catalog Description and Prerequisites
5170. Financial Management. 3 hours. Tools and techniques used and proposed in corporate financial management. Analysis of the investment and financing decisions and the environment in which such decisions are made are covered in readings, case problems and class discussion. Prerequisite(s): ACCT 5020, FINA 5040, ECON 5000, MATH 1190, BCIS 5090, DSCI 5010, or equivalent. Students with 15 credit hours of approved undergraduate finance courses may elect to substitute another 5000-level course for this course subject to the approval of the FIREL Department masters advisor.

Course Objectives
To introduce MBA students to the tools of financial management available for making decisions that lead to maximizing the wealth of company owners. 
Course Expectations
This course is completely web based. Material will be distributed via the web and all assessments (including the final exam) will be web based. You will submit course work via Blackboard. We will have several scheduled chats, assignment submissions, frequent postings. 
Tests/Quizzes
One test and a final exam. Several (about 14) Recorded Assessments to keep you engaged.
