Course Objectives
Please treat this UNTecampus information as "an accurate description at this time, but subject to serious tweaks". Please check back here in mid-May 2010 for a more final version. The detailed course syllabus will be available on Blackboard on 07 June 2010, the first day of Summer 10W 2010 classes. In this class, you will have the opportunity to "work the numbers" of marketing decision making. While the class maybe viewed as a workout in Marketing Math, my fond hope is that you will leave with a much better understanding of the dollar impact of marketing decisions. You will learn several techniques that will serve you well in your later classes and in your career in Marketing. You will learn the types of analysis you will be called upon to do, in upper-level Marketing classes and in your future careers. Some of you, undoubtedly, are thinking of starting a business at some point. I hope you do and wish you all success! Hopefully, in this class, you will pick up some vital skills that every entrepreneur should have! You will also learn how to construct and use simple, yet effective, Excel workbooks to assist you in your analysis and PowerPoint presentations to convey the results to an audience, or during a committee meeting.
