4210. E-Management: Managing in a Digital Economy. 3 hours. Deals with the why" and "how" of the changing face of management. Focuses on what managers do to maintain and enhance their firm's competitive position in the era of e-commerce. Examines and evaluates some of the more critical issues associated with analyzing the environment, designing organizations and managing people to deal with the challenges that emerge in the new business environment. Prerequisite(s): MGMT 3820 or MGMT 3850 with a grade of C or better, or consent of department."

Course Objectives
1.To highlight emerging issues associated with managing the traditional business given the increase in electronic commerce activity. 2.To explore which, when, and how online business activity can support a business and lead to competitive advantage. 3.To re-view traditional management issues such as strategy, supply chain management, organizational functions, or leadership in the light of digital economy.  
Course Expectations
Course requires performing activities, exams and/or and assignments per set schedule. Course involves frequent postings, reading observations, and active participation. 
Tests/Quizzes
Two-three exams, at scheduled times. Exam schedule announced on first day of semester, students must be available near a computer during that time. Quizzes.

Course pre-reqs: MGMT 3820 or MGMT 3850 with a grade of C or better.
Students who do not have pre-reqs will have to drop or will be dropped.
