Course Catalog Description and Prerequisites
5350. Introduction to Real Estate and Investment Analysis. 3 hours. An advanced survey course on real estate, including topics in urban land economics, appraisal, law, finance, taxes and investments. Emphasis is on investment analysis of commercial property.

Course Objectives
The objectives of the course are to leave the student with: (i) an excellent understanding of the time value of money; (ii) an understanding of the decisions, methods, and techniques used in real estate; and, (iii) enough interest in real estate such that he or she will choose to take additional real estate courses.

Weekly graded discussions, weekly quizzes and weekly graded exercises.

Weekly graded discussions, quizzes and exercises; one mid-term exam and a final exam. The midterm and final will be held via face-to-face class meetings.
